Cell Phone Battery Cove
Cell Phone Battery Cover
By stretching the limits of 6061-T6 aluminum, a brittle and unforgiving material, the battery door for a high volume cell phone model was redesigned. This new one piece design eliminates multiple individual pieces and sub-assemblies with no additional sub-assembly needed.

Our transfer press technology and tooling allowed us to replace a flat stamp, wrapped component with a full featured deep draw cylinder. This improved dimensional integrity, created considerable savings during assembly, and improved the overall function of the final part for the customer. Meanwhile customers saved between 15 and 20 percent.
Fuel Fill Neck
Fuel Fill Neck
This difficult filler neck has previously been made in two processes, stamping and secondary thread forming. ITW Drawn Metals’ tooling design fit everything into the main tool to eliminate the secondary operation, saving 14 percent.
Fuel Fill Restrictor
Fuel Fill Restrictor
ITW Drawn Metals assisted a customer by accepting a transfer of a competitor’s tool. We successfully improved dimensional integrity of the part, which in turn, improved the fit and function of the mating part in assembly, saving our customer thousands of dollars.
Airbag Manifold
Airbag Manifold
ITW Drawn Metals replaced an aluminum extruded can with a CRS deep drawn shell. This new redesign eliminated the need for multiple secondary operations and introduced features in the press. We saved our customer six dollars per part.
Check Valve Assemblies
Check Valve Assemblies
Automotive transmission and fuel system Check Valves are excellent applications for in-die assemblies. A ball and spring are fed into the transfer press to complete the assembled Check Valve, consequently eliminating costly secondary assembly operations
